Does this car drain out gass like crazy like you have to buy gass everyday or less?
A: Like the 1st poster said, pretty much all Infiniti's get below average gas mileage. The QX56 4WD model is abysmal, with EPA of 12/17 and average of 14mpg. Considering large SUV/truck sales are down over 30% this year, its likely that Infiniti just may drop this vehicle from its lineup within the year. The FX45 AWD actually is just as thirsty on gas with EPA 13/17 and average of 14mpg, the FX35 AWD does a bit better with 15/20 and average of 17mpg. Check http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/sbs.htm for all your fuel economy, pollution and carbon info on automobiles. Once the new EPA guidelines for fuel economy go into place in a few years, Infiniti will have to downsize the engines in all their vehicles to meet the new standards of mandated fuel economy. BTW, the QX56 has a 28 gallon tank, so you only fill up once per week...but that fill up is over $100!!!

A: I would not recommend it, as CR cites the car as being extremely unreliable, which I find unacceptable for a $50,000+ luxury SUV.
However, owner satisfaction seems to be rather high. My neighbor has one and seems to be extremely satisfied.
When I drove one as a loaner car while I had my Infiniti serviced, I did not like it, because it was just way too big. The third row wasn't too bad though, and the second row captain's chairs were very comfortable. The standard back up camera is very helpful, given the height of the car.

I have heard there is a process to remove this that a person can perform- such as open the door and turning the key to the accessory position and performing some procedure- Greatful for any insight into this...?
A: If the airbags have been deployed the light will stay on until the airbags have been replaced along with the module that fired them off.It means the system no longer works.

A: I'm not a big fan of the styling, honestly. It looks like they just took two different vehicles, and sewed they together behind the back doors.
I do really like the FX45, though. Infinity has come a long way.
One other one that really caught my eye, and I'm ashamed to admit it...the Buick Enclave. They are brand new, so right now they are much more rare.

On the QX56, I don't care about the price, or the fuel useage. What I do car about is how much of a pain in the you-know-where it would be to parallel park (you'll need a football field), or maneuver in a crowded parking lot, parking spots are so narrow for a vehicle that big (may be very difficult to get in or out if you can't open your doors far enough.)
Edmunds.com editors only gave it a 7.4/10 which makes me wonder if it's really that much better than the Nissan Pathfinder Armada, which is the exact same vehicle, except for the face, butt and interior.

A: Yes, especially Nissan vehicles because even their V6s require premium. It's because of the higher emissions regulations in Japan and premium fuel maximizes potential horsepower.
However, please do some research before buying a QX56. I used to regard that SUV very highly until I read into it some more. First check out consumer reports. Then just Google QX56 and the Nissan Pathfinder Armada problems. I hate to be the one who breaks it to you, but the QX56 is one of the most unreliable vehicles ever built by man.
Q: what do you think about swapping an Infiniti QX56 engine into a nissan 350Z?
A: Personally, I would stick with the VQ35DE in the Z and modify the heck out of it. It cant be cheap to buy and install the 5.6 motor into a Z. Plus you are adding more weight to the Z and probably throwing off the weight distribution.

A: I don't know anyone who has one but I read where they were one of the most unreliable vehicles with many problems. On the other hand, I had a 1993 J30 that I bought new and I loved the car so I don't know if it is just the QX56 or what. Good luck.

i need a new car.. and i am going to be buying BRAND NEW, no more junk used cars for me, but theres so many cars out there i dont know what i want, i really want the 2 door clk 350, and thats about 40,000 brand new.....and i want it just because it is a nice elegant, very nice car...but then i was thinking of the infiniti qx56..it is also a nice suv.. that is going to be 40,000....and i like it cuz its really big, but which one will be more reliable?? i want a car that is low maintance and VERY RELIABLE, i heard nissan's were very reliable so the infiniti qx56 is the nicer version of the armada. but im not sure if its gunna be a huge gas guzzler..??? someone help me out?? which one is better??? and who actually has had these vehicles...and or any problems with them????
A: I like the new mercedes 350 engine, it makes about 315 horse power. If you follow the maintenance manual giving with the car, it said mercedes engine will run forever.
I have my mercedes C 230 for a year now and all I did was changing the oil in Mercedes service. It's a good car. 350 is really powerful.

A: for looks the escalade but with 6.2 v8 403hp it gets bad gas mileage so the infinity wins in gas mileage
